Petrified + Panicked at the Start of US

I imagine you were not immediately thrilled to find you were having me.

Even though, through the years, when we were eye to eye , you always told me it was the greatest moment of your life.

Now, grown up, I realize you must have been scared – petrified, in fact, in complete disbelief and denial. Panicked.

You weren’t ready, I wasn’t planned. Far from it – far, far, far from it.

Nothing in your life was ready. Nothing was prepared. Nothing was in order.

You were still figuring out you, your life, your work, your career, your plans – 

Heck, you were probably making plans for the next weekend – or probably even dinner out, the night you found out. The night you knew…or even just suspected.

Now, today, I pray for you then, the you on that day I started. The day Us started.

I pray for your peace and strength so that you overcome the fear you must feel that Us happened all of a sudden. Surprise.

We, Us, are amazing thanks to you, your choices. Your love.

I pray for back then, pray for Us starting out.

I pray every day for the you then, the Us then.

I want to let you know that we, Us, have a great life. Please don't stress. Your smile is amazing. Your warmth and love is empowering beyond comprehension.

You are never alone. We, Us, are never alone again.

I love you so much today, yesterday and every day forward.
